A 12-credit hour semester has never been such a pain in the ass! Everything is completely piled up on top of itself this midterm. I have a painting that I haven't started due in a week, a history test I have only begun to study for tomorrow night, a logic test over material I haven't kept up with on Tuesday, and a take-home Evolution and Ethics test due next Thursday...and I don't have any time at home to do the damn thing! It's not school so much as it is working 30-40 hours per week. I couldn't have picked a worse time to offer to fill in for Jim on my day off.

Work SUCKED last night. We had a 12-top (meeting for a book club that reads books on the Middle East...affectionately named the Durka-durka Club...that's a Colin original) and a 4-top on the books, but we did twice that. Ben was prepared for a relatively easy night, so he was completely knocked off his feet by the onslaught of tickets that came in. We had at least three instances of hour-long ticket times, which isn't unheard of for a tiny restaurant that makes everything to order, but still, it shouldn't have been the case for a night where we did less than 40. Ben was in the weeds and proceeded to kick me off the line. It really hurt my pride (which, like hurt pride does, turned quickly into misdirected anger), but I've accepted it. Obviously, I don't have much experience in a kitchen, and so while all of my sides were going out on time, I didn't know how to handle having to get my lead sautee organized. Wendy and Missy are very organized leads, so I haven't had much practice in that area.

Tonight, we have the same amount of people on the books that we did all night last night...this time they'll all be in within an hour's time, though. So we all talked about how to improve, and Ben and I are going to try to redeem ourselves.

Meanwhile, I'd better get going on my history studying again. A week and a half of hell, and then spring break. I only work on the first Saturday of that week, as well as Monday and Tuesday, so I plan on having an AWESOME time doing some pleasure reading and movie watching. Then, back to Louisville to hang out with Erin!
