I'm headed back to Lexington tomorrow morning. It hit me tonight--this Christmas break was the last time (as far as I can see...which admittedly isn't that far) that I will have spent a considerable amount of time living in my parents' house. I graduate, and I will then be full-time at Metropol. It will still be my mailing address for all significant purposes, but that's mostly just because I don't know for sure that my next apartment will be where I will settle for a long period of time.

My room here is pale blue. My bed is short (my feet hang off the end sometimes!) and off-kilter (thank you, Boris). It has a brass head board and a comforter with watercolor-esque blue and green designs on it. There are valances of the same material on my windows. There are a couple light, impressionistic prints framed on my walls. My books are in a bookcase that is painted white to match the woodwork and doors. It's very...docile.

My docile domicile. Haha.

Well, it's not really my domicile anymore, is it? It's my parents' house. It really is a beautiful house in an amazing neck of the woods (see pictures from this summer), and I will still feel at home here.

Time to sleep. One more night on my short, lumpy Louisville bed.
