Reunion With A Long Lost Mommy

May 13, 2007 09:30

For months on end, I was complaining to Ian and most of my friends about being so harrassed and wanting to escape Manila. Last weekend, Teletech had a company outing to Caylabne Bay Resort in Cavite. It got me excited and all. Pffft.

The long trip was just too much, two to three hours did not seem worth of what you will find there. I heard that the beach had imported white sand, and the view should be lovely. When I got there, I realized I was not really that fond of beaches. It was an okay beach, a bit better than usual. Though knowing how much they charge for an overnight stay just further aggravated my dislike for the place. Maybe there were just so many people.

But then, the people you spend your time with can make even Payatas your Amanpulo. Thank God, I was with officemates I really like and those I dislike got out of my sight. There are not much I dislike in Teletech anyway. During the trip, I got really close with this 40-something-year-old transexual at work. We call her Sunshine. When I was still in training, I noticed her immediately. With what she looks like, it's really hard not to notice her. Everytime I see her, there is always this nagging feeling that I have seen/met her somewhere. We spent the entire time with a few of my officemates making chika about her Japan days.

When I came home, I showed Mama pictures of her and what I found out justified the nagging feeling. Sunshine used to come to our house because she went out with a really distant relative. It was ages ago though, like when I was still two years old. That's why she's familiar then. She hanged out a lot with Mama and even took care of me sometimes. It was like a homo version of lukso ng dugo. She's one of the first homosexuals I came into contact with. The world is so freaking small. The panalo comment of Mama was "Naku, hindi pa uso ang Japan, nagja-Japan na yan!" I call her mommy now. Thinking about this weird sort of reunion, the trip does not look so bad now.

The night before, Jen, Vermont, and I attended classes at FF ABS-CBN. We then proceeded to the Fort to just hang out. We ended up at Landes (?) where we proved how Mensa-worthy we are. Echos.

I don't know the lady in blue in the picture but what I know is she's very very very fond of using "pare" in her sentences even when talking to homosexuals.
