Bed? Psh!

I've rigged a shitty internets connection in my room, yay! It's enough to allow me to browse and update here, but not enough to upload photos or download much of anything.

Where to begin...last week I gave blood for the first time. It was actually fun, can you believe it? You feel kind of loopy in a good way afterward, get free food, and you know it's for a good cause. Not that getting a STRAW stuck in your arm is pleasant...well, nothing's perfect. The poor guy across from me had to get a barf bag >.< And apparently I bleed reeeeeaaaaally slowly; mine took literally twice as long as both of the others around me. But hey! Free T-shirt. Except they ran out.

I'm almost halfway through tech school. The course material is actually very interesting; things like AC/DC power, TONS of technical orders, wiring/soldering/fixing things, and so on. The problem is that the pace is slow enough for snails to do laps around us. Three times last week we were ahead of schedule by 10:30AM. Class gets out at 4:00PM. Hours of fun! _-_ My goal is to ace the course. I'm 4/4 so far on block tests, with another six to go. Once I'm done with tech school, I'll be back in Indiana around the last two weeks of the month, then will have a few weeks to myself before I have to get back to Seattle (cool) to catch the plane to Yokota AB near Tokyo (awesome), then finally hop over to Kadena AB in Okinawa (woo!). I'll have some friends in Japan around the time, so I might stay at Yokota AB for a few days. I'd also like to travel abroad a bit...at least once I'm at my permanent duty station there are TDYs EVERYWHERE for E&E. Guam, Vietnam, China, Korea, Australia, Japan...and those are just local. It will also be nice to not have the slow pace and kid's rules that we do in tech school. OMG and how. You really do have to make some sacrifices here, let me tell you. I'm actually at the point where a pet cat or something would be nice, but it won't happen while I'm enlisted. Take the bad with the good, right?

Randomness time!

-I'll do my best to upload a few vids from my cam to YouTube or something this week. Few of some good AF people, and one GREAT lightning shot.

-The farsightedness in my left eye has been baaaaaad since I woke up this morning =/ We're talking double vision here. Ugh, go the hell away.

-My credit has gone up 30 points since I've been here, my credit cards' nearly paid off, and I have a real savings. I LOVE this. Granted, I still have to get some new clothes, and I'd really like an HD Cam or DSLR for all the cool sightseeing. Budgeting for potential trips to mainland Japan/Germany/wherever the hell I can go to see old friends and have good times. Still need a passport, dental work, and funds for things I really don't need, like a tat, engagement ring, and investments in a few years. It is really relieving to know I could buy a house or car right now and be able to afford them though, all thanks to the Air Force.

-Met a girl named Ashley (or Ash/Ashes). Nothing crazy, mind you. I really don't want a tech school romance that's doomed to failure, and, well, STDs around here are about as widespread as the cockroaches we almost eat every day. And to be perfectly honest, my mind's elsewhere most of the time anyway. That said, she's pretty cute, and she's really into dance. She can bend in half 0.o White as a ghost, heh! I'll get some shots of her before long...though here at Sheppard, she might already be getting cozy with someone else by tomorrow =p

-Any requests for CamelBaks, boots of various makes (gently used), or whatever, let me know and I'll do what I can for you. Amanda, Sam, Lee, and Erin, I'll try to get ahold of you after class this week. Everyone else, I miss you, hit me up. Life's too short!

Bedtime. PT @ 4:30 = SUCK.
