Less than two weeks until I head off for the biggest change of my life with the Air Force, and I'm SICK. Not just an upset stomach, mind you, but a full-on sinus and lung infection. High fever, convulsions one night, dizziness, plugged head, hacking up...yeah. For the past three days, and still counting. Not only can I not work out at all, but this has also wiped out weeks worth of getting in shape before I go in. Next week's gonna be rough...
Last weekend I went to Ho's birthday party. Great to see so many old faces (check out my Facebook pics and IndyDDR's photo archive), but in particular, Sam, Lolo, and Ryan all really were wonderful to hang out with one last time. The highlight of the night for me was catching up with Lolo and getting to know Ryan, her bf. I felt bad earlier when I was the one who informed her that Brad had gotten engaged, but she's in such a good thing with Ryan, she'll be fine. We left Ho's at like 1:40AM to find a bar. Once we did we were screaming to each other over the shitty karaoke and smoke-thick air over a few beers. We all just really opened up, something I haven't felt in awhile. It was...god, it was nice. We parted ways, and I drove home.
The next day (Sunday, fyi) was the family dinner. I woke up feeling a bit woozy and congested, but nothing serious yet. Both Derrick and Bria were sick, so we spent some quality time with them before dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. Amy (who was having her 13th birthday), Kim, Bobby, Dan, Mom, Dad, Denise, Gary, and myself got to a long table, ate, drank, and were merry. Jess stayed home with the kids; not only was she playing doctor for them, but she also had her cervix stitched shut, so she opted to not go out. We brought her back an awesome dinner of portobello chicken though. She's a trooper. We got back, watched the new Knight Rider (love the new KITT, but the show...lolz), said goodbyes to the family, and I took Dad back home while everyone else stayed in Greenwood.
That night, I sweat through my clothes and bedding, bleh. I went between that and burning up and freezing simultaneously through the night, along with the things mentioned before. My last week at Best Buy, and I've called in on two of the three days I was supposed to work. It's not really my fault, but I can't help but feel like a dick about it. Hopefully I'll be better tomorrow and can actually work on my last day.
I have a few more goals in need of completion by the weekend:
Send first postcard to Erin
Send my aunt the acceptance packet and $25
Take lots of drugs, vitamins, and fluids
Wish Mike Lindley happy birthday
Organize lists of what needs to be sent to me after basic
Figure out who I'm flying in for graduation
Take care, and thanks to those of you who made it a great weekend. Oh, and fear Lissa Ho's crazy poker skills, omg.
