Donnie Darko...I think I've got it. It's really not that complicated; thought I had it, analyzed the hell out of it, and ended up pretty much back where I started. I LOVE Donnie Darko!! I haven't seen it in ages...

I assume you've seen American Beauty, but if not that is a great mind fuck movie, and great movie in general.

Yes, I do indeed love mindfuck movies, and I can think of at least a dozen, if pressed. In addition to the ones listed above, might I suggest "In the Mouth of Madness" starring Sam Neill. Very good. Did you have particular questions about Donnie Darko? Mind you, I've only seen it once, but agreed, I did find it quite good, if a bit screwy. Another (can't believe I'm about to say this) mindfuck movie was Final Destination. Not so much that you don't know what's coming, but it's a clever little insight into the nature of death. Fight Club is (of course) a great one, and I'd be loath to miss movies such as Blade Runner, Impostor and Total Recall (woo Phil Dick). And I guess we might want to put Butterfly Effect on there (did I just say that? ugh). My only big problem with Donnie Darko is the timetravel/reality adjustment issue. I just can't stand time travel. Anyway, if there are direct questions, all are free to contact me for my views.
