We're alive! Okay, this is a teaser, cuz I'm so fucking tired I can't see straight. I'll be posting much more later, so keep cheking back!
Heh, now that it's almost a day later, here I go.
Pre AWA
Got my check, cashed it and paid some bills, nothing hugely eventful. Dave was in town, due to being screwed over by some fat chick over AIM or something in Michigan, so he drove back down. Live and learn, hehe. Watched The Punisher while waiting for Allen to get out of class before we headed to Ho's; it was much better than I expected, though it had some...issues. The flaming skull at the end? Rebecca Romaijn as white trash? Psh. So Allen got back, and we headed to Ho's. Ran a stopsign riiiiight in front of a Noblesville cop on the way, thanks to the setting sun being in my eyes, but she didn't pull me over. Luck +1, Cop Karma -1. We arrived at Brian's, went to pick up Brad, and began our long journey. Besides the stuffiness of four people in one car for many hours, it was very enjoyable. We always were talking about something, or listening to MC Chris, Party Hard, Radiohead, J-Pop, or even watching The Apple. We made it to the end of the movie finally...oh lord, it is the worst movie ever. At least I know when all seems lost I can just call upon Mr. Topps and his transparent golden Caddy from the sky to save me and my hippie friends 0.o We only had one snag on the way down; we went about 40 miles down the wrong road before we circled back, so that added about an hour. We did make good time though. Ho, <3 your car. We made it after almost ten hours including stops, said bye to Brad, and crashed for the night.
AWA
Whee! Con time! AWA is ACen's sister con, so I knew it wouldn't be anything average. After reg in the morning, I played around at the game area for a few hours. Lord, there were so many music games...the smell, ugh...but it was a good time. No CVS2 at all though, wtf? Hehe, not a big deal. Roamed around, ran into a few familiar faces (Gavv, Bob & E-Love, Pocky, Kevin Lillard, Vic), met a few new people. It felt somehow disarming to not have so many people I knew there, but that's okay, cuz I'm decent at making fun times happen. The bigger thing for me was that I didn't have any set schedule, or drama...I actually missed it very much. As such, I don't plan on "attending" any more conventions. They are money pits, and I miss out on a lot of what I go to cons for; a level of interaction that was totally not present at AWA. Working them though, ooohhhh yes. Highlights included playing PIU and Taiko No Tatsujin for the first time, crashing a room party, hanging out with Brad, Lolo, and the AMV crew, checking out the bead show, finding out that Chibi was still alive d=, and the video that Allen and I shot when tipsy. You have to see it...no, it's not Yaoi. Lots of really good costumes at this one too. The ride home was uneventful, except that I got to drive Brian's S-RT4 (aka the turbo Neon) for a few hours. Again, your car kicks ass. Got home, chatted with Erin for the first time in forever, and spent a few minutes with Dale on his resume before I crashed. It was a good time overall, just...yeah. And tomorrow I go back to work open to close for several days straight, since every other full-timer quit just before the holidays. Whee?
