Deliver me oh God from my enemies, defend me from those who rise up against me. deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from the bloodthirsty men.
for look, they lie in wait for my life, the mighty gather against me. Not for my transgressions nor for my sin, o Lord. they run and prepare themselves through no fault of mine.
But i will sing of your power, yes i will sing aloud of your mercy in the morning for you have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.
Psalm 59
i find that as my defenses weaken while im home away from fellowship of Christians, i feel the attack of temptation of my old life coming back. ive tried to fight that temptation and have failed. no one is to blame but myself. though this has been my downfall, it has also turned into an uprising in praise and repentance for my actions. the Lord knows exactly how to find us when were lost. and when he does, he rejoices! after all that weve done... he sing of happiness to have found us again.
"and when He has found it, he lays it on His shoulders rejoicing. and when He comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them rejoise with me for i have found my sheep which was lost!
I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance."
