1. Rose and the Doctor have, quite frankly, the best intergalactic romance and friendship in the Universe. Who is the Doctor to your Rose? Is it a friend, colleague or relation?
I think the closest I have is my colleague Mike. Unrequited love I'm too scared to say anything about, check, tall with David Tennant hair, check, brilliant, check, full of madness, check, bizarre hand gestures and mannerisms, check, a personality full of as many razor edges as it has softness, check.
2. What's the book or movie that you always seem to find yourself reading/watching when you're sick or injured?
Season 2 of the The Office, American version, for maximum and constant Jim and Pam UST. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the portion of Season 6 from "Once More With Feeling" until right before she stops sleeping with Spike. Movie is probably Secretary. Book is The Killing Dance by Laurell K Hamilton, because its when Anita still did cop work and its the first book she sleeps with Jean-Claude, and its lovely. I've been known to watch season after season of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit while I have fevers, and then have illness induced sex dreams about Stabler. It's pretty much the best thing ever.
3. Why do you write?
For the experience. My life this last year has been a hodgepodge of heartbreak, panic, independence, love and loss, my mother falling mentally ill, living alone for the first time, losing lots of money, gaining friends, finding a support network I didn't know I had, learning of family that has nothing to do with blood.
Writing out the threads between two people is the duct tape that keeps me together when I'm all alone with only my own mind in the dark. When pretty things come out of my fingers, I remember who I am.
4. When you're nervous, do you find yourself unconsciously doing something? If so, what is it?
I wring my fingers together, bite my lip, and hold my stomach. Look down a lot and nod way more than any situation ever calls for. When I'm boy nervous, which has truly happened maybe twice in my life (I'm a really confident individual, generally) my brain completely short circuits and I stammer and blush and say stupid things like I said to my above Doctor Mike, "You're tall."

5. If money were no object, where in the world would you go? Why?
Stonehenge, with not another soul around. I want to sit in the center and feel. I've heard stories my whole life of people touching god there, or hearing voices, or feeling a thrum, something of a spiritual nature that brushes the line of here and the ethereal. On paper I'm an atheist, but this does not mean I'm not spiritual; I want to go to those rocks that no one knows the story of how they got there, and listen.
I also want to go to Japan, experience buying a bra from a vending machine, and stage a Godzilla apocalypse.
