day happens to be the birthday
of a lady very near and dear to my own heart, and her name may or may not be Lotus
.
Sadly, today also happens to be the day when I have 5.5 hours of class, and I may or may not be a complete deadbeat, because I've only got 2 paragraphs of her birthday fic done.
Uh, oops.
I really ought to do UN-birthday fics, because God knows there are glaciers that type more quickly . >_<
However, on the premise that it is the pathetic groveling IOU that counts, I'll give those two paragraphs now as a promise of more to come...

I swear, Ichigo thought to himself, half admiring and half cursing, One of these days having a boyfriend with an overdeveloped sense of irony is going to rear up and bite me in the ass. Although at least until then it'll be a very amusing show... His eyes continued to track the figure on the other side of the room, shining against the huge dark picture window like some sort of card-shark angel.
Because “card-shark” was undeniably what Uryuu looked like, in that ice-white suit, with his hair so slicked back he looked like he'd just stepped out of the shower. It was a far cry from the “straight A fruitbasket” he'd looked like in high school, or the “wide-eyed file clerk” he played in the office, or the “steely-eyed bastard” he projected on assignment in the field...or even the “naughty French maid” he became in bed on very special occasions.
