Poor portents for traveling o_O
For those of you not already aware, I am going to be out of internet contact from this morning through the evening of the 29th, due to the unavoidable necessity of proving to the extended family that, yes, I am still alive.
I am not looking forward to this as A) I have some problems getting along with these relatives, B) Some friends of the family I am not 100% fond of are going to be staying with us as well (in a pretty small rented beach house, C) I have to check one piece of luggage and this strikes fear into my heart after the Great Luggage Fiasco of September '06, D) There is currently a major storm front closing in on Detroit with winds gusting up to levels likely to turn me into a human kite and the "Jaws" theme as its battle music, and E) I have barely been able to sleep the last two days with the dread of this trip weighing down on me.
....they serve liquor on airplanes. I must remember this and keep up hope.
