The Path Untaken
He saw the path untaken
Three words on a lonely beach.
Love’s secret lost to her
And buried within him.
Her precious lips a ghost on his
The echo of a mirror’s gaze.
Specters that could have been do fade
The price of cowardice.
One path he might have taken lost
A wreckage on the sea.
Salvaged by another man
Words spoken unto She.
A distant Rose in winter
Stands frozen on the beach.
Waiting for armor to crack and cave
For him to never leave.
