Halfway Out of the Dark, Eleven/Rose, PG-13

“I’m always yours, Rose.”

“Are you?”, 1,027

A/N: I didn't use all the words, but those I did certainly came in handy! Someday I will stop with the Eleven/Rose angsting. Today is not, apparently, that day.

This is the piece I was talking about--it's certainly what made that line click for me!

I've seen several people theorize that the Doctor knew all along he would somehow lose Rose. Maybe not exactly, but he had to know something would happen (actually, going off your icon, I've seen the Doctor seeing it in all possible timelines as one interpretation of the "never say never ever" scene at the end of 2x11). He definitely remembers Rose as John Smith, and I don't know if I've ever found another interpretation that makes more sense of the "she keeps walking away" line!

I don't mind at all--in fact, I'm so very flattered you found it inspiring! I haven't seen Four just yet (I plan to, someday, because I so much want to see Sarah Jane, and Four was actually my stepdad's Doctor) but I would love to see that story when you finish! Placing Rose with different Doctors is a favorite thing of mine; I put her with One in a story I wrote last summer, and I've toyed once with her seeing Eight. It's just so fun to consider how her dynamic would change with each Doctor!
