So did you wiggle your way out of your SO's declaration that you couldn't write any fic? ;)

(And as I went to type this I realized that the pattern around the title is the vortex... jumpy... button thing that probably has a name. The more I look at this, the more I notice!)

This is really gorgeous. I love how you worked in the Bad Wolf theme and the dimension jumping!

And now I must scuffle back to a research paper, but I will certainly be returning to stare at this some more later!

Well ... I didn't exactly wiggle out of it as much as wait until SO was asleep. I'd like to pretend that I slipped a certain someone a mickey, but the Florida heat, going all day and copious margaritas at night did more to knock SO out than I ever could. ;)

I had several ideas for normal, text-only fics that I wanted to do for this challenge, but I thought that a book jacket teaser would have a shorter process, considering the fact that I am literally sneaking this one. It did, but I still managed to spend a lot of time on the actual jacket design. I'm not a graphic designer, but I know enough to fool around.

I have to say that I really had a tremendous amount of fun doing this one - I'm glad you like it!

(btw - I realized the text was a little hard to read, so I brought the picture in again from photobucket this time, which made it a lot bigger - if you had trouble reading it the first go round.)

That definitely does help; this morning I was playing the "well, if I tilt my head and squint..." game. ;D

You could've fooled me; this was really well done for something you just know enough to tinker around with! It really does remind me of those pulpy novels that would've been around back then; you evoked that really well.

Admittedly, I probably do know more than the average bear ... I'm an industrial designer and have, on occasion, been called in to do packaging design for one of my products. Industrial designers, being more specialized in 3-D design, have a rep for being terrible graphic designers, though - I mostly fit into that category, too! :D

Thank you, thank you!

I wanted to keep adding stuff to it, but I ran out of room on the front and back cover, unfortunately. :D
