“You’re cut off, Harkness,” the bartender said curtly as Jack drained his mug to the dregs.

“Aww, come on, Doc,” Jack Harkness wheedled, his slight slur the only discernible sign of his inebriation. He was better at holding his liquor than any of the patrons the Doctor’s club had ever seen, and that was saying a lot. “At least until last call.”

LOL, yep, my Rose is breaking into yo' nightclubs, stealin' yo' cars, so you better hide your locks, hide your valuables, and hide your cars, 'cause she's stealing errthang out there. ;)

Thank you! I had such fun with this one!

The way you wove Nine, Rose, Donna, Jack, and The Master into 'Casablanca' works really well. I enjoyed the provocative banter between all the characters.

Rose makes a great femme fatale and this line is perfect:

“He doesn’t let me do a lot of things, Doctor. And I let him think he has me. Just like I let myself think I’ll leave him someday.” She waved a hand, crimson red fingernails glinting with light reflected from the ceiling fixtures. “Little lies we tell ourselves. Never did anybody harm.”

Thank you for posting as I enjoyed this fic very much!

Thank you for reading! I was working hard to reconcile the characters with the way they had to speak in a noir-type setting (my friend joked that of course, Jack fits perfectly, lol). Making Rose into a femme fatale was an irresistible temptation, since she's had those badass moments in canon (the "Go to hell!" line in 2x09 that I not-so-subtly nodded to being forefront in my mind)!

I love this AU. The little references you include really make your writing fantastic, and I love reading them!

OH. MY. GOD.

I'm cheering and shivering and the goosebumps and I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

SHE STOLE HIS CAR.

SHE SHOT THE MASTER.

FUCK YEAH, ROSE MOTHERFUCKING TYLER!!

I love the bits of the show you wove in. All the little Rose quotes and actions, but with a teeny shift. The gun on the Master instead of Satan, but that same. cold. stare.

God.

This really brings to light for me how Rose and Jack have been the Doctor's only two companions that are willing to kill for him. It makes her so ferocious and fierce and steadfast.

I love this story because she believed in HERSELF.

And having her leave at the end (and steal his car which is just SAUCY) is simply perfect and bittersweet, like the bite at the end of a Bukowski poem.

Kindly have my babies.

The children, what shall we name them? ;)

I had so much fun with this and I was so nervous about how it would be received, and I have to say that working with Rose this way was probably my favorite part! She worked better as a femme fatale than I thought she would!

Thank you; I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Poor Rose!
I loved it- it worked so incredibly well. The similarities between Who and the story line here messed really well.

But she stole his car? Not that I wouldn't put it past her to do it-but still.

Loved it!

Hee, well, one of the trademarks of noir is a downer ending, so I had to have her leave in the end. Plus I just wanted to make some hint at a blue car to stand in for the TARDIS. ;) Thank you!
