(This photo was taken by
Jason Hall at tonight's show. We finished playing about two hours ago, and already
it's on the internet. I LOVE LIVING IN THE FUTURE!!)
Just home from the first of two Ederlezi shows, featuring our band and Orkestar Zirkonium and Brass Menazeri (making their international debut with us!) A decent crowd of enthusiastic dancers and revelers; it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves on the dance floor!
Tomorrow promises to be exhausting, but loads of fun - a busload of fun, to be exact, as we'll be playing some mini-concerts around Vancouver: Science World at 3 p.m., Granville Island at 4 p.m. and several other stops throughout the late morning and early afternoon. I found out at Thursday's rehearsal that we'll even be playing on the SeaBus, which I haven't done in years.
Even my darling lady was able to come and listen for a while (she's the one in the picture, centre left, swinging the small child around on the dance floor.). We tried dancing, which is to say that she danced; I, on the other hand, stumbled around, having no clue how to partner-dance in 7/8 time. Still, failing in the company of my lady is far better than victory on my own.
