Say Yes by Andrea Gibson. This is a poem that gains momentum and strength as it hurtles towards its conclusion, like a freight train that's willingly abandoned its brakes. These days I am becoming more evangelistic when it comes to poetry. I'm not apologizing, just ... wondering. It's great, seeing people for whom poetry is still a vital art; I wish I had known this kind of poetry when I was growing up in rural Manitoba, as it might have helped get me through more than a few lonely days and nights.
