October? Really...

I guess another month creep by me without an update. Basically, my time has been divided between going to school, going to work, homework/studying/senior project, and football. I've made a few allowances for TV, food, and the good liquid in there as well. Speaking of TV, new episodes of House and Fringe started, and I'm already re-addicted. If only they came on the same night like they used to, then I would only have to waste one evening, instead of two...curse you FOX prime-time executives!!!

The weekend has been heavily football oriented. First the Vandy game, then the ULL. Last weekend, I helped out with Habitat for Humanity with ASCE. We got to help put up siding on the houses during our shift. It wasn't vinyl, but this really cheap particle board. It was pretty difficult to work with, actually, but that why there's plenty of free labor. We listed to the game (vs. MSU) on the radio while we worked, and we got to hear the crazy, split-second win on the ride home (curse you Lester Miles!!!!!).

This extended weekend has been quite relaxing. Fall break allowed me to head home on Wednesday night. Thursday I lazed about, then watched my little brother play some midget football. Friday I accompanied Laila on her job errands, which involved reading housing foreclosure sales and postponements at public outcry at the courthouse (gotta love archaic Southern laws). Saturday was the big game against Georgia which the fam and I watched, and then headed downtown for Bayfest afterwords. I got to see Train and 3 Doors Down, plus there was free booze courtesy of my dad's secretary's husband being on city council and getting us access to some VIP area. I can't remember the last time I've seen downtown that crowed...it was pretty crazy. The fest has really grown since I first remember going to it long ago, when my age was merely a single digit. Of course, they just started to attracted big names in the past 5 years or so.

The big games are about to hit Tiger Stadium. I'm about to get hella excited. One thing I don't like about being a student again is the lack of seating. I want to see the Band play in the PMAC, but it leads to crappy seat selection once you get in across the street. These next two games I'll have to convince people to go in with me when the student gates open...even then we probably won't get the coveted, lower NW corner seats...but I can dream.
