MOVIES!

Again, haven't updated in quite a while. Let's see, well I'm finally the big 2-1!!! Yes, a little over a year since I could legally drink whilst in London, I can now legally drink in the US of A. I celebrated modestly by going to Rotolo's and getting a pitcher, then there was some cake and drink shared at my apt afterwards. Yall people that were there know what I'm sayin.

Oh, and that week at work, me and this other chick were doing a traffic study on the I-12 from the split to the Walker exit. We had to drive during the AM and PM rush hour (referred to as the "peak" hour by traffic engineers) and determine the length of time it took to go that far in traffic. This was all done because the plan to widen I-12 from O'Neal to either Range or Juban and they need an estimate of how bad things are right now. Well, I can tell you as a fact that in the afternoon (about 4:30-6), I-12 is a virtual parking lot with delays that extend from O'Neal to Drusilla or Essen and it takes about 50 mins to sit through that. The morning is a little better, it only backs up from Denhamn Springs Range exit to Juban, and that takes about 20 mins. So anyway, once they six lane that SOB, things will get better. Actually, the models show it should shave off about half the time. And if they ever build that BR-loop, then that only makes the situation better for I-12. Course, the next thing they need to look at is I-10, but knowing DOTD, that may take another 10 years...I'm not kidding, they starting investigating this I-12 thing in 2003.

Anyway, last weekend, I saw two of the movies I said I wanted to see in the last post. Lyz, Shelbx, and I met at Elmwood Friday and Sunday afternoons (cause matinée is only $5!!) to see Wanted and The Dark Knight. Wanted was good, a bit of an escape from reality. Not that I expect movies to be realistic, but it tried to be realistic while being completely un-realistic at the same time. That kinda bothered me, however, Morgan Freeman's interjection of "Kill this Motherf*cker!!" made it all worth it.

But O Moo G (don't ask), was The Dark Knight everything we thought it would be and more. Joker = the best Joker ever, full stop. Him and Two-Face totally creeped me out. I really need/want to see it a second time to catch all the things that were going on. The first time you get really caught up in what's going on that you miss all those little clues...awesome! I think it gave me a panic attack afterwards...what other movie can do that??? Oh, and does anyone want to see a magic trick? I'll just need a pencil...

This weekend is fun in the NOLA (again). I get to gamble, drink, and stay in a downtown hotel. Should be the-bomb.com, and anyone who says otherwise is a sadist...there I said it.
