Old-style warehouse rave
In should've learned my lesson with The Christmas Party, but never volunteer to DD for ravers when the party involves more than a dozen folk they know.
I had a lot of fun, and (God bless you, Matt!) has earplugs, but I was, once again, up until 7AM driving people home. Who were whining about how they don't have as much energy asd they used to, and this should be when they're settling in to the second afterparty.
Also- don't do the "spinning glowstick" stuff with actual fire. It doesn't look quite as cool, makes the whole floor reek of lighter fluid, and they tend to go out when you spin too fast. PLus there's the chance you might drop something and set someone on fire, and all.
A much prettier idea is a small ring of Christmas Tree light. Someone had 4 of them, all of different colors, battery powered and seemingly set on separate timers (so they can blink, stay on, what have you). Clean, safe, and beautiful.
