Jubes was tired and she was sore but thankfully it was her last day of shoveling the veranda. Seriously, the punishment had sucked but she knew it could have been a lot worse if Erik and Charles had really wanted it to be. Now all she had to do was just stay under the radar for awhile and maybe they would just forget all the trouble she had gotten into lately.
Of course, staying under the radar also meant avoiding them. Mainly, the Professor.
She had been in the kitchen, making herself a cup of hot chocolate, when she heard someone approaching. The desire to keep avoiding the Professor made her quickly abandon the cup that was sitting on the counter and she looked around for some kind of escape. Unfortunately, there wasn't one. Not unless she wanted to hide in the pantry.
Rushing over, she yanked the pantry door open and quickly ducked inside. Closing the door till she could just barely peek out, she watched to see who it was coming into the kitchen. If it was the Professor, she would shut the door quietly but, if it wasn't, she'd act like she had just been looking for something. But no, it had to be the Professor and she bit back a little gasp as she eased the door closed all the way. As soon as she did, that's when she remembered the cup of hot chocolate and she closed her eyes in frustration.
Crap, he was going to know there was someone around now.
