The closest to a pro-liberal post that I hope you ever see here

Since the election was called, there was an immediate chorus of ABC: Anyone But Conservatives!

Which, in CBC-land, means "Vote Liberal" because the liberals are, you know, the only credible party that could possibly be elected into control of government that are not themselves conservatives(well, the bloc could do it...but most canadians *can't* vote bloc). Of course, this is ignoring centuries of british parliamentary law, the huge costs of approximating closer to the american two-party system, and the liberals previous abuse of power(such as the Anti-Terror acts) but let's ignore all that for now. Let's assume you're willing to vote strategically to get the conservatives out of power, you democracy diluting bastard, you.

ABC means "Vote Liberal" in some places. However not everywhere. In Quebec, it probably means vote Bloc. In Saskatchewan or Manitoba it means Vote NDP. The NDP are the only credible threat to the conservatives in most Saskatchewan/Manitoba ridings, and in other ridings Canada wide. You can go to wikipedia and check voting histories if you'd like---the data is all there, and most of the time, things don't change *that* radically. Strategic voting is always dangerous, for the data is sparse and the strategy usually doesn't play out well but if you are willing to go through seriously with voting against the conservatives in Saskatchewan you *need* to vote NDP

Except in one riding

Wascana.

Which is where I am currently located. It is run by Ralph Goodale.

Here's a handy dandy link to 2006 election data, which gives you an idea which are the close ridings, although more history and context would be best

cdmca, canada, liberal, crap, abc
