The Sword in the Stone - T H White. Totally tainted by my having seen the Disney version. But I do not remember the jabs against socialism in that one, nor the blatant racism, so they can be redeemed for that transgression.
It was actually not as terrible as I've made it out. It would have been pleasant reading, had reading it not been effectively mandatory. If you're keeping score, Marie de France's 'Lanval', and Mark Twain's 'A Connecticut Yankee in Sir Arthur's Court', followed by the original Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and then the others, if you are interested. It goes downhill from lanval, mostly.
My prof talked about ants, yet I did not see ants in my copy. Oh well.
All that's left, is to write and hand in an essay(hopefully Real Soon Now), and do the final next week, and this class is over.
