2010 Works Cited

Books Read:

  • Ezra Levant - Shakedown.
  • Stewart Calculus (4th ed. Multivariable) (I got to the end, but my memory about the vectorcalc parts faded back almost immediately, then I read to the end again(from a second bookmark)...and again it faded back, I'm on attempt 3 but I *did* get to the end and I've probably done most of the questions in the book by now).
  • "Gang of 4" - Design Patterns. This one is also similarly vanishing from my memory, but the more I work the more I think that there's some truth to its ideas.
  • Paul Krugman, ? Wells, ? Myatt - Microeconomics: Canadian Edition, 4th edn
  • Neal Stephenson - The Diamond Age. Typical neal stephenson -- it gives the reader an entire new way of thinking about the world and leaves them thirsty for more.
  • C H DOUGLAS - The Approach to Reality. Not very impressive but I think it's starting to form the basis, in my circles of a whole new social paradigm. This is a spark, let's see if it catches.
  • Meriuashi Mushashi(sp?) - Book of the 5 Rings.
  • Plato - Symposium. This is I think more or less the last of extant platos writings for me. I think I've read the whole set at least once.
  • Malcolm Gladwell - The Tipping Point
  • Robert Anton Wilson, Robert Shea - Illuminatus! Book I - Verwirrung.

  • S Brin and L Page. The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine. Proc. 7th International World Wide Web Conference, 1998. Also Computer Networks and ISDN Systems, 30:107- 117, 1998., Paper presented at the Proceedings of the seventh international conference on World Wide Web 7,Brisbane, Australia, from http://dbpubs.stanford.edu/pub/1998-8 (as of 26 dec 2009)
  • ISO 8859.
  • Satoshi Nakamoto - Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System, satoshin@gmx.com, www.bitcoin.org

I'd recommend Stewart Calculus & The Diamond Age for others unequivocally. In general I've been very captive to blogs, university/work, reddit and not so much the printed and affixed word this year. We'll see if next year I can't make this list more impressive. I've got a good start, having just finished another one today.
