So....I found my birthmother a few months ago. I e-mailed her a couple days ago....wow. It's quite an experience learning all the things about yourself that you were deprived of knowing growing up. Ie: where did the talent for music or the propensity for flying come from? Why am I a clutz? What's my nationality? (Turns out I was kinda wrong on that one...I DO have a country!!!! Go Serbia!!!)
In other news, Kilted Spirit and myself as a solo musician have a busy weekend ahead. Gig friday night, gig saturday night into sunday morning, and a church service with music that makes me want to go all Monet on my self....that means cut my ear off for the less cultured of you.
In other, other news, I'm still waiting for a call/email/something from the pizza job...I expect it should come in the next two days or not at all, and I'm auditioning for my other job as music director on the 3rd of October and I REALLY hope I get that as well. I'd really love both of them but I could easily live with getting the music director and hunting elsewhere for a supplementary income job. Between that and the band, I'm thinking Phoenix would be a possibility really soon.
Of course, one of the reqs of this music director job involves playing an organ. Anyone know how to do that? I'm going to learn tomorrow! Did I find someone with an organ, some spare time and a willingness to teach a young student the ways of the organ? No. Did I find someone with some spare time and a willingness to teach a young student the ways of the organ? Not so much....Did I find someone with some spare time? Ya...me. But no, I found an organ. So by "learn to play" I actually mean "fiddle with buttons/switches/pipes/pedals/keys until the correct sounds come out". People may want to clear central Tucson....it's a BIG PIPE ORGAN!!!!! I've always wanted to command that much sound at my fingertips....here's my opportunity!
Oh and in case anyone's still reading, I'm still in love with Holly, I'm still going to marry her and the manifesto I wrote a few months ago still remains true....though it continues to grow beyond my ability to keep up with.
