Slumdog Millionaire

For people who don't know, it's a story about a boy born into Indian poverty who get's onto the show "Who Wants to be A Millionaire", driven by following his life long love.

Wow. It was amazing. I'm really rooting for this movie, and I encourage everybody who has the means to go see it! 10 out of 10 for sure!

Firstly, the storytelling was nothing but pure genius. Flashbacks were interwoven beautifully with the game show. Every element of the story had meaning, and it tied together perfectly. The editing was phenomenal, keeping you on the edge of your seat as it moved around in the time line.

The transition between the actors at different ages worked quite well too. They were all good and the characters remained consistent. It was well directed and well written, and well acted.

The cinematography was interesting, but not distracting. The sound was brilliant, I actually downloaded the soundtrack when I got home. This is not a common occurrence, that soundtrack was exceptionally good.

I think my favorite thing about this movie was the fact that most movies about poverty or India or both have some kind of political agenda. Not that I have anything against political movies, but I think they in the end, they aren't very touching. This was touching. It wasn't about a place or social status. It was about characters and emotion. Poverty was only part of it. It wasn't the point. It was so much more than that, it was really touching. There need to be more stories this fulfilling in Cinema.
