Nah, it's not your fault. I can't do it anyway. But if it wasn't coffee it would just be something worse.
But I don't agree about Dunkin' Donuts; I'm a disloyal Rhode Islander. Their coffee is just not strong enough for me. It's fine iced, because it's been sitting around for a while and has had time to collect itself, plus iced has to have cream and sugar. I'm trying to get back to black, because the sugar has started to make me really nutty. But I just can't drink DD coffee black.
So, Starbucks. Here's the thing. I know a lot of people complain about it, but as far as corporations go, it could be worse. Besides which, local coffee shops often brew stuff that tastes like weasel spit. And really, for a cup of plain coffee, Starbucks is not really that much more expensive than DD. It's kind of like, "If you can afford to eat out for dinner, you can also afford to tip" (Adam Smith, The Wealth of Nations, 1776). Plus, they'll French press it for you if you ask, which I like. But yeah, I've got to get back in the habit of brewing my own, and leaving coffee places for treats/social things, because man, you can go broke quick that way.
My two favorite fancy Starbucks things: iced caramel macchiatto, and the hot peppermint mocha. But the Americano is good too.
