Whereupon theMorrigan lacks coherency
I know. I owe a SWRE update. Immediately after the con, I had to spend the week playing catch up on my homework. Today will, gratefully, be a day off from that, and I will nap and deliver things like SWRE updates and my Cam reports. Ugh.
Last night saw a solid conversation with noltain. I use solid because, while the subject matter was serious, the results of the evening were seen in a new sort of connection with lovely woman that I am grateful to know and adore.
Stayed up a little too late, and am exhausted this morning. Have to stay awake long enough to complete my Initial SVR (work report) which entails much contact with my students. I switched positions two weeks ago, to the dark side of Finance and I am enjoying it - to my surprise. I think it's the magnitude of student contact, even if some of that contact is collections, and it's a no wonder that I'm enjoying it more.
For those unaware, I have two new friends at work. Daisy and Jessica who, while possessing names that evoke the sense of the flighty bad kind of high school cheerleader, are phenomenal. Jaded, bitter, funny, and affectionate with people they care about. I'm ecstatic. The girls want to have a night beginning with a day of streaking my hair and generally doing the girly thing. Probably due to happen next weekend. I'll get pictures.
Stupid car. Yet more problems keeping me from California this weekend, people I miss despite seeing them the past weekend, and the proximity to the ocean I crave. noltain offered frolicking on the beach nearby her place when I had the time to come out for it. I think I'll be making the time. I adore spending time with her and fallentyrant, and the rolling sea with its gentle breeze and caged tempestuous potential is just a welcome bonus.
Time to get back to work.
