Winging West
I'm mostly packed. My camera batteries and cell phone are charging. I have an inexpensive wrap I bought over the weekend to keep myself warm on the plane. I have some really good yogurt and a packet of my cousin's homemade granola to eat for breakfast. The plane, the hotel, and the registration are all paid for. I have cash in my wallet and the specially saved Big Check deposited in my checking account primed for debit-card use. I have a small knitting project and a Peter Beagle book I've just started to take on the plane, which is good since apparently the westbound film is "Monsters v. Aliens." (The Horror.) My legs are shaved.
I have to upload more music onto my iPod and decide whether to take my laptop in a separate bag or put it into a bigger carry-on with my other carry-on things.
I get picked up for the airport tomorrow morning at 5:00 am, and I'm too excited to contemplate sleep.
I am so ready for this.
