hi. we made it to chicago. i am sitting in the kitchen of our new apartment, and stealing wireless internet from the hospital next door. moving into this place was a real bear. it's on the 3rd floor, and there are no elevators. i have never been so sore/sweaty in my life. pretty gross, dude.
the move-in went okay, other than the fact that our couch didn't fit through the doorway. i guess they didn't make couches over 6 feet long when this building was made. we tried every which way to get it through the door for about 40 minutes, to no avail. that couch is currently sitting in shorty's living room, waiting to be listed on craigslist. bummer. however, shorty's (ex)girlfriend's mom was selling some nice cream-colored leather couches for 50 bucks, so we snagged those up. it was quite a steal.
we have been unpacking for the past 3 days and we are damn close to being done. we still need to buy a dresser or something for some of our clothes though. even though neither one of us wears 90% of what we own.
today we went to target and bought a storage chest and a trashcan. not the best thing to bring onto the train during rush hour. noted.
when we get totally unpacked, i'll post some pictures of the new place. until then, here are some pictures of the drive from arkansas to chicago...
arkansas. the natural state. aroused.
here is a nice lookin' lake. or river.
we stayed with amber's mom in little rock. she has some dogs. this one's name is hamnburger. he's real funny looking.
he can't keep his tongue in his mouth, so it just kinda hangs out the side all the time.
all the time.
amber found some of her old dance costumes, so of course she tried them on.
we left real early in the morning, with only the light of jesus to guide us.
somewhere between missouri and chicago we went to a place called Boomland.
they had 64,000 square feet of fireworks.
these were some of my favorites.
i bought a super classy iridescent jesus clock there. pictures of that soon.
illinois! (come on feel it.)
then it was pretty much just this for 8 hours...
and that made me a sad panda.
but then we got there and went to that famous chicago eatery, applebees. we had a few drinks and shot the proverbial shit for some time. then we passed out at the hotel that i got duped into paying for. all in all, the trip wasn't not fun.
pictures of the apartment later. oh and pictures of my going away shindig.
