(073) ★ Two Days Till Drafting [Voice]

[The journal clicks on and it shows a clear image of Usagi, who just happens to be chewing on her bottom lip.  She looks down at the journal for a moment and sighs.]  I'm really nervous.

I haven't really fought in a long time. [even her brief stint with Merc was a clumsy mess, and unusually so.]

Neither have a lot of the others. Why should you be coddled, Princess?

I'm not saying I should be coddled, nor do I want a way out; I'm just nervous, Ami. I'm scared.

Then be stronger. You don't have that luxury.

So I can't be scared?

How will you win that way?

I'll find a way.

Don't be a fool. Real battles aren't won by 'I'll find a way'.

That's why you can't even face me.

[themoonuplifts]

I don't want to face you, Ami. Please. [she's all nerves right now. forgive if she's snappy.]

And I'm always scared before battle, but it's about overcoming. And I will.

[no_use_running]

Being afraid is why you stay away from me. But I won't let you hide forever.

[themoonuplifts]

Don't, Ami. I'm not hiding, I'm not running, and I'm not afraid of you. [She's afraid of what Ami's become.]

I'll see whether you are. You can't avoid our battle forever. Just like you can't avoid this one.

[themoonuplifts]

I'm done avoiding things, Ami. [there's a trembling sort of strength to her voice.] You'll see.

Your words lost meaning a long time ago. Especially about things like that.

[There's not much else she can say, and, instead, she closes the journal. Speaking with Ami just further fried her already frail nerves.]
