When I signed up for my
Master's Degree in Syracuse University, I wasn't prepared for the challenges of being an international student. In particular, getting to Toronto for the much-awaited Toronto Film Festival.
The
Toronto Film Festival is one of the top-rated film festivals in the world (alongside Cannes, Berlin, Venice, and Sundance). It is about 5 hours away from my school, but to get there, I needed to cross the Canadian border. Because my visa was only good for the United States, I had to do some major juggling to get all the requirements done ahead of time.
Despite poring instructions on how to get my Temporary Resident visa, it still meant visiting a Canadian Consulate not once, but three times. Yup. Three times. And that wasn't it. Because I'm tired of explaining, here it is in graphic form:
I'm leaving for the festival tomorrow. Finally!
