So here's the deal... I'm working on a 4 disc set of mix cd's... and I'm going for a theme of "times of the day". "morning" "day" "evening" and "night". This is a work in progress.. I've been adding/deleting songs frequently and whenever I hear a song that I think sounds good I try to remember it and add it to one of the playlists when I get home and "give it a hear" with the rest of the album.
My only concern is that, although I consider myself halfway knowledgeable about lots of music, I'm also aware that there's tons that I DON'T know... so I'm asking for anybody to submit any songs to any of the categories above that you think REALLY fits into one of them (or you can try for your own whole mix cd and we can compare)!
The rules I'm following are pretty strict... I want songs that sound good together (obviously, as any good mix cd does); I want songs that are lyrically on point (tons of songs that "sound" like evening songs have lyrics involving morning time or lunch or something like that... disqualifies them); and of course, I want songs that "sound" like that time of the day... meaning, what you "hear" at that time of the morning, the song really captures that.
So yeah... you don't HAVE to reply, but if you do have anything that you think would fit well, please suggest! I'll at least give your song a listen and throw it in the playlist to get "worked" although no guarantees that any of your songs will make the final cut. crossposted to livejournal and facebook
