So, I'm going to file this under Fandom: Gotye, and Fandom: Top Hat Matt Bomer. I thought it might be relevant to your interests.
This is a weird song for brothers to sing to each other. o.O

I have not watched a single episode of Glee since the second season. I kind of figured I'd absorbed everything it had to offer on postmodern sensibilities in storytelling, and it thus became pretty boring. (But still relevant enough! :D And we're still getting through the episodes of Top Hat at a reasonable rate.) Matt Bomer does seem to be one of the men of the hour! He's certainly got that emotionally tortured manpain thing down. All these woobies, idek. (I would kind of love to see him on Show as a villain, actually. hmmmmmmm.)
I like the idea of exploring Blaine a little more as a person. I'm guessing the context of the song is the brothers had a falling out, likely to do with Blaine's sexuality, hence the "somebody that you used to know"? I guess it's one way to tweak the angle on the song, applying it to a different kind of relationship. Because really, as we are all to familiar with, brotherly rejection often ( ... )

When I watched it, I had no idea who anyone was supposed to be, so I thought Bomer was an older ex-boyfriend, which seemed super-creepy and I couldn't figure out how they'd gotten away with something like that on network tv. Then it turned out they were supposed to be brothers, and I laughed.
Heh, watching this also made me kind of wish he'd guest on Show. So much pretty in one place. It would also be hilarious to see tiny little Matt Bomer next to the mountain that is Jared Padalecki.

O.O YES.
Then it turned out they were supposed to be brothers, and I laughed.
Ha, yes. (Is it just me, or do we get kind of ... proprietary of tv brother relationships? Like, we have the absolute definitive incarnation, so everyone else can either damn well measure up or go home?)
He is! He's little! *pinches cheeks* He would be so good at evol.
