wooooo Australia Day and MUSIC.
Okay, so, probably no one is that interested in this but me, but today (in Australia) is not only Australia Day (party!), but triple j's Hottest 100 countdown for 2011. It's epic, it's streaming (there's a button at the top of that page), it starts in less than an hour, and it will last all day (down there). I'll be up listening to it until #1 is rung in, just like last year. (Helpful that I have a buttload of work to get done tonight.)
So, anyway. I love triple j, it's nation-wide, it's commercial-free, it's censor-free, and it does stuff like this, and this. I don't love all the music played on it, but I love that they play it. I love that they love music. And I love that for 8+ hours tonight, I'll be listening to Australian accents, and smelling summer air and ocean and barbeques in my sense memory. Summer. Summer. *curls in the corner sobbing for a minute*
