Great Day

In a blind, fast, and drunk decison I agreed to attend a youth ministry service( a college church service) at the Dsicovery Church with my other trombone player and his girlfriend. I was a little nervous, growing up Catholic I had a rough relatonship with church, though the mood of the place allowed me to rest. The service did not preech what not to do and what God will damn you for doing nor was it a dull theology lesson. This was different they talked of peace and peace making in context with Christ teachings. With a powerful rock praise band the worship went smoothly and worked at my level and by the end I could really get into it. They sermon included stories from a mission trip in Kyrgystan where the local population hung a boy in a family who recently coverted to Christianity. The powerful word and powerful praise allowed me to feel uplifted more than ever before. The church was filled with people all different colors, backgrounds, and styles but we were all brought together in a non formal union leaving us with only our love for Jesus and our smiles in common yet bringing us closer to one another than we ever could alone. I feel very good right now.

If anyone out there wooulld like to join me next sunday night, I welcome you. Just ask.

I feel really good.
