There's a damn chilly wind blowing today and I fear the tree in the backyard is about to knock over the neighbor's fence. That will be inconvenient.
Our router died a few days ago. Also inconvenient. More inconvenient in that it took me a while to actually narrow down the problem to the router, and so I was offline-ish for a bit there. Stupid router. I suspect it had been going wonky for a goodly while, though. Ever since, I think, the dog knocked a soda onto it. Oh, pets.
Have been watching the tv shows, but have little to say. Shock.
30 Rock -- very enjoyable. Every time I start to think it's going meh, it pulls me back in. Well done, show. Alec Baldwin is surprisingly hilarious.
Ugly Betty -- show two that got a full season pick-up. Now I'm getting nervous, thinking that one of my tv staples is going to get cancelled just to make up for the good luck I'm having with new shows.
Studio 60 -- I won't harp on about this again, honest. I just wish the show would go one way or the other. There are parts of each episode that I think are really quite good, and I start to soften towards it, and then it goes all ... I don't know, seriously off-putting, or something. I wish it would just decide which it wanted to be, so I could either enjoy it without waiting to wince, or write it off completely and move on to something else. Also, I'm not really sure that I'm meant to find Jack the most interesting and sympathetic character -- that's probably a bad sign, Aaron.
Robin Hood -- is very boring. I think it takes some real effort to make the story of Robin Hood uninteresting. Good job, I guess. If only it could be bad in a way that made it cheestastically entertaining. I forgive a lot for cheestastic entertainment. I mean, I loved Xena, for God's sake, clearly I'm not hard to entertain.
Jericho -- is not for me. I watched the first three episodes and it was just kind of uninteresting. Very formulaic and cliched. Meh.
Heroes -- I'm definitely starting to warm up. I still don't care much about Nikki, but this week I found her much more interesting. Unfortunately, I'm starting to care even less about the Brothers Paterelli (is that what they're called?), but Hiro makes up for everything by being absolute love. Oh, Hiro. Somebody should point me towards Hiro icons. Yes. Also, I still really like Claire. Too little Officer Weiss, though, folks. Come on!
BSG, Supernatural, and Veronica Mars, have all been very good so far this year, and, so I guess I'm just pretty content to sit back and enjoy without much comment.
Though, I do have one, semi-rantish, thing to say about VM --
Rob, please stop making Veronica and/or other characters stupid for the sake of your plot. There was enough marijuana in that room to supply half the campus. If Veronica was as clever as you want us to believe, there's no way in hell she'd believe that that was a supply for personal medicinal use. I get that finding a lone, wee, pot plant wouldn't have had the same dramatic effect as finding a grow room filled with plants, but ... God! I then have a hard time feeling for Veronica and her "mistake", because you pushed the marijuana story far beyond the realm of hand-wave-ability. Stop that.
So ... when does the second half of SGA's season start up in Canada?

The Nietzsche Family Circus. Hilarity!
