But yes, basically, I said exactly what you did: That the vaccinated crowd, via herd immunity, protects those either who can't get the vaccine due to an autoimmune issue or allergy or who aren't protected by the vaccine for one reason or another.
I hear you. It didn't really cross my mind at the time, but we took Tycho out several times when he was first born, and who knows what he could have come across in those formative months where he couldn't receive many vaccines for diseases that are sooooo contagious. It scares me now in retrospect, and I am SO glad he never contracted anything!
That link worked! Great! I'm interested in reading your thoughts too. :)
I took Beau out within days of her birth and around other people within 2 weeks but I waited for her to meet her non-vaccinated cousins until after her first rounds of shots. Still, not that that would REALLY have helped her but it was SOMETHING.
We have to get on a plane in September and again in November and I'm scared shitless of her getting something. She had a fever for 2 days once but that was because of a UTI but I'm almost certain September she will officially be sick for the first time. LOL. Especially now with this Ebola outbreak I'm freaking out. :( Grr. But you can't do anything about Ebola but still. My husband is the type "we can't hide and not live our lives" so away we go!
Haha, we did the same thing. Target the day after his birth, Washington DC when he was two weeks old or so. As far as I know, he didn't come across any unvaxxed family members, but I admittedly didn't ask, either.
Ugh, I'm sorry! I'm sure she'll be fine, but airplanes in general just... freak me out. We did take Tycho on a plane when he was three months old (and several times after that), and he did just fine, but I do understand the worry!
The Ebola thing should be okay. I'd be more concerned with more easily contracted diseases (but don't let that freak you out!!). I'm sure it'll be great and you'll have a wonderful time! :) Where are you going?
Haha yeah i had Beau during that damn polar vortex and people called me crazy for taking her out to target a week later. PFFT. She has yet to get sick. lol
Me too! I have to take a lot of xanax everytime but luckily my husband will be there too. Beau will be 8 months and she's so active and I'm worried she'll be loud and obnoxious or POOP. Like changing a baby in a pub bathroom is hard enough let alone shaking on a plane because I'm so scared LOL. My husband promised he'd do it though.
Yah...that's true...I just am a compulsive worrier. We're going to Wisconsin to see family in September, his cousin had a baby yesterday and November to Orlando...that's for work. Just found out we're having our closing party at Harry Potter world so I'm effing stoked. hahahaha.
Hahaha! So long as your husband handles it. ;) I hate flying, too, and have tried everything from Xanax to alcohol, and the alcohol admittedly worked the best, lol. Not as easy to do when you're with a baby, so that's what my husband is for as well. ;)
STOP IT. WAIT. Your work is having a closing party at Harry Potter World?! OMFG. I'd fly for that, easy!! You're going alone, right? Pop that Xanax and get you some HP goodness, girl!!
Haha right! Xanax works but I still ALWAYS get sick to my stomach. Not vomiting but just I feel gross and off the entire trip unless it's a long one and i have time to recover. WI trip will be leaving on Friday NIGHT and returning Sunday midday. Wtf. UGH. I so don't want to do this. AND I JUST GOT CALLED FOR JURY DUTY THAT WEEK. Wtf.
YAS. I. am. so. stoked!!!!! Yeah I get put up on these work trips so I don't mind it too much...plus it's a long week so it's easier to recoup before I have to actually start working. :) POOLSIDE BB! I'll be there. :)
