If everyone is hungry, why don't they grow food?
Ok, I've had this question posed to me before. And I'll admit in the book it's not quite clear but in the movie its even more confusing. Everyone is hungry yet nobody in the Seam is growing food in their yards.
In the book I always got the feeling that politics was to blame, kind of how it is to blame now. We know the merchants in Dist 12 often have backyard garden but we don't hear about people in the Seam doing this. Why?
