Seeing the pic they used for this article, this is the first time I think maybe Haymitch isn't mis-cast after all. I know Harrelson can act, but Haymitch is only supposed to be about 41 or 42 and every picture I've seen of him before now, he's looked like he's at least 60. *superficial opinion is superficial*

This is so funny because I clicked an article about this this morning and thought "Man that picture of him makes Haymitch look about 65!" and then saw this one and thought "Well, that's a lot better." ;)

In general I'm a little worried about him playing Haymitch as a fool still. I've just never thought of Harrelson as all that secretly crafty. I hope I'm wrong though.

Honestly, I would've preferred Bruce Campbell, myself, but as I've seen stated elsewhere, I'm cautiously optimistic. Harrelson has a pretty wide range... *crosses fingers*

This should be the "Constant Vigilance!" of the HG community.

My impression of the books has always been that Katniss was in love with Gale from the beginning but she never really admitted it to herself, her actions and thoughts to me come across as she was in love with him. Of course though the Katniss we meet at the beginning of the book doesn't really believe in love, so she doesn't really label it as such. However the first book, other than the obvious part of trying to survive and get home to Prim, is about her growing to care for Peeta, so that she can fall in love with him in book two. Love isn’t real to Katniss in book one, pretending to be in love with Peeta is a means of survival, when she tells Peeta it’s lie at the very end of book one and his reaction is when things changes. Along with what happens at the beginning of book two and the events between the two is when her opinion changes.

You can't really label Gale as the love interest, without labelling Peeta too. And this is coming from someone who would have preferred her to be with Gale.

I agree, the love triangle isn't the focus, and really it never is the main focus. The main focus is Katniss' battle to stay alive, keep Prim safe and then the rebellion. Sadly going by the promo so far, the love triangle looks like it will be much bigger than in the books.

I've been all about this casting since it happened. He's got my full support. His performance in Kingpin nailed it for me.
