So...I totally got cussed out twice today by stupid people because they don't think that things like LIABILITY POLICIES apply to them, and everybody went on vacation this weekend in the office except for me and 2 other people who must cover all shifts for 2 buildings. Starting today I am going to have 10 hour work days until Tuesday. I am bringing my lunch in a little lunch bag and I feel like i'm in elementary school again. Upon seeing my vanilla snack pack today my ghettofabuloso co-worker Fred uttered, "Dang Ems you packin' a snack pack up in here sister!!!? I ain't mad atcha!" Obviously nobody is comming in over the holiday and so we are dead. Sticking with the elementary theme...Today I read a kids chapter book called The Giver, most people read it when they were young I think. Anyway it's good and I think they are making a movie maybe. Anywho my mom told me there were 2 other books that go with it so I just decided to read them all this weekend while I'm at work. 1 down, 2 to go...besides Harry Potter isn't out yet. :) I also heard they are making a moving about the chronicles of narnia (I LOVE THOSE BOOKS!), I don't know how I feel about that yet. Still debating on whether or not to see the creepy Willy Wonka movie. I prolly will, but I love the original. I watched it so many times as a kid (uh, and now, duh) and will never forget that it was the movie playing in the waiting room when my first sister Sophie was born. Gene Wilder is awesome. The Young Frankenstein is it? That is hilarious! I-GOR...FRODRICK! :)
So yesterday I got up really early in the morning and drove with my Mom and my Grampy to good ol' Sullivan, IN. That is where my grandparents grew up and where my Grammy is burried. I went 1/2 for her and 1/2 for my grampy because I know he liked that I went. We cleaned off her stone and put new flowers on for Memorial Day. It was so sad. I miss her so much. My Grampy is so cute. He brought cleaner and polishing rags and was just goin' to town on that thing. Mom said it is really important for his generation to do that sort of thing and thats why he wanted to go on Friday. So that everybody that visited that cemetary this weekend would know that my Grammy was all taken care of. For really the first time my Grampy looked old. After all he has been through...the depression, the war(s), 4 kinds of cancer, getting run over by a bushhog...., I'm really scared of loosing him, my grandparents were like parents to me. Death in general really scares me and freaks me out I guess. What really happens? What is the point of everything? It just weirds me out to think that her body was in the ground right there where we were standing. I saw a grave for a man that was only 22. He had died in July 04 but had gotten married just months before in April. So much tragedy and sadness.I'm glad I went though. Even though I am now totally confused about my who is related to who and so on after my Grampy tried to explain it to me.
So after that we had to make the rounds of all the kinfolk that my Grampy has in Sullivan and I had to kiss and be kissed by ancient people I don't really know. THEN we went to the only place to eat in Sullivan....The bowling alley! It is actually really good and totally seperate from the bowling alley, the same people just own them both. Anyway, it was there that I discovered a NEW SCRUMPTIOUS DELIGHT.....drum roll....MACARONI AND CHEESE BITES! Yes my friends, globs of mac n' cheese DEEP FRIED to perfection, they were indeed AMAZING and I highly approve. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll serve them at the new Cheeseburger in Paradise we are getting! We also went to Dairy Queen where I tried the brownie batter blizzard. Don't even do it, it's a complete dud.
I was supposed to hang out with my friend Micah and his brother tonight but alas I just got an email from him saying his phone ditched my # or something....just as well because I am sooooo tired! Sorry about the novel....tomorrow during my shift perhaps I will continue with more of my country girl lore and explain to those of you who don't know what a bushhog is!
Goodnight moon.....
