Late start again but I am high on Monk's series finale, so *__*. I suspect it will be a bit of a slow Friday anyway.
1) Amanda Knox is found guilty in Italy (which is not breaking news, CNN). She could spend 26 years in jail. A friend and an aunt are here to talk. And people from the panel last night.
ETA More with the panel.
2) Erica's Bulletin: An explosion at a nightclub in Russia has killed more than 100 people, apparently caused by a fireworks display. A new offensive launched in Afghanistan. SlimFast recall. A baby is born on a flight! A doctor and two nurses were on the flight and delivered the kid.
3) Sinking support for President Obama. 48% approval rating, is it a significant shift, also, only CNN's polls.
Gergen says it's a big shift down, 7 points. The non-college-educated whites dropped the lowest. He says Nate Silver (hee) pointed out a few weeks ago that there's been a gap between his overall approval rating and his approval rating on the economy, which pulls his overall rating down. Clinton and Reagan were also both under 50% in their first year. Their problems were losing people in Congress the next year.
4) Keeping Them Honest in the Clemmons case. Guy who helped him escape, and the issues with patrol systems. Also, an arrest warrant from Arkansas that was failed to be put into the national database and could've gotten Williams (allegedly helped him escape) arrested before it happened.
Fail all over the place from the legal system, here.
People from various departments in Washington and Arkansas. And a former NYPD officer. Also legal analysis.
5) Chelsea Clinton's engagement and Hillary Clinton's involvement. In, er, the wedding planning. Very short.
6) Erica's Bulletin: Roman Polanski on house arrest in a very luxurious house. Tom Brokaw and his wife were in a three-car wreck, one woman was killed, after some wire fell from a truck onto the highway. Sarah Palin is a birther now, apparently. Two homeless brothers living in a cave in Hungry inherit a lot of money and a castle, they'll split some with their sister in the US. Anderson is ~*~skeptical.
7) The Shot: Tom Foreman hitting balls in a batting cage. We saw pictures of this from Ed Henry's Twitter today. John King was there!
Apparently earlier this year he bet a quarter that he could jump from the floor to a top of the desk and got a gash in his leg, but still did his story.
"We'll see y'all on Monday," oh Anderson, lookit you using Southern slang.
