If you didn't read Pelevin's novel of the same title, it's fun and involves chickens training to fly by lifting metal nuts on their wings.
So, I've been going to the gym for a month, and today I took them up on the free personal training session.
Let's see... Summary:
-- I have suspicious-looking bumps where normal people have muscles. I NEVER had anything but bone, stretchy things and a bit of fat there. I am developing certain vain self-image disorders about the new growth (checking in the mirrors to see if my biceps grew by maybe another millimeter is not normal at my mature age :)
-- After today's session (was supposed to be 45 minutes; was 1.5 hours), I discovered that muscles I didn't have in my body can hurt.
-- I like it. Am considering spending a lot of money to continue the vanity trip that started as a health trip (back would hurt after a day at work. Stopped doing that after a single gym visit. Not having back aches does NOT require a personal trainer)
So, basically, I feel silly because I've made "Gym? I never set a foot in the gym since high-school" my permanent line in the past years. So. Have to admit that I was wrong now. I don't do that often. Don't get used to it.
