Pain, Boredom, and Cabin Fever

Just wanted to give anyone still watching out there a quick update on my medical condition. I'm no longer in constant pain; I only have a problem if I sit down in one position for more than five minutes or so. Standing, walking, lying down, and sleeping are all activities I can now enjoy without needing to reach for the Vicodin. The approval for my physical therapy regimen finally went through, and I've started attending appointments this week.

Unfortunately, the pain ramps up pretty quickly if I stay seated for long. I'm pushing it just sitting up long enough to make this entry. I've been almost entirely Internet-free during the course of my recovery. It takes a lot of squirming around in my chair, the use of a lumbar support cushion, and generous doses of painkillers/anti-inflammatories to make it through even a few hours of socialization. Somehow it just doesn't seem dignified to converse with friends while lying prone--not to mention the difficulties of eating a meal in such a position.

In other news, I'm going to be shutting down my oldest email account (klaivaskar@yahoo.com) in the next few days. I don't use it much anymore, and just about everything I receive there is unwelcome spam anyways. Badly directed spam at that, what with all the exhortations I receive for me to increase my penis size and so forth! If anyone only had my klaivaskar email as a contact point, let me know and I'll send you my new address.

angst, home, pain, friends
