Hey brother bleedseason June 12 2003, 23:13:10 UTC
I'm in the navy. I've lived on board a submarine with 150 guys for the past 5 years almost. Imagine those christian "cliques" you described, then reverse it. imagine listening to cuss words and lewd comments about women every 15 seconds, being made fun of for being a virgin almost daily, routinely having to stay up and not sleep because the rest of the guys in your bunkroom are watching porn so you cant go in there (well you could i guess, but i chose not to). I long to be surrounded by christians. Yeah, theres fakes. a lot of fakes. but to be in an environment that poses the possibility of GOOD company (lest we forget - bad company does corrupt good morals), I'll take that any day. The church is a mess man, but the world is worse. I've seen the worst, those things i described are nothing. Count your blessings that you see the corruption instead of being taken into it, and count your blessings that there is at least some beauty among the ruins (otherwise you'd never even know it was ruined.) Anyway, I'm getting out of the navy soon (39 days), and I will be able to socialize and fellowship with people who have the same interests and values as me. I thank God that there is a proper Church, and that he has buildings (the common "church")where we can all meet. I'll come on time, and leave on time. Maybe hang out, maybe pray, maybe dance. who knows? Just remember, when paul wrote to corinth about all the problems in their church he didnt tell them it would be better if they just stopped meeting together. he instructed - ordered - them to work through the problems in love for everyone. Anyway, I know exactly where you are coming from, dont get me wrong - and thats not even a cop out statement from me. I'm serious. Just take my response as the ramblings of a man whos been on the extreme side of the fence and can see a differemt point to it maybe.

Anyway, you're the man for even recognizing my screen name. I wont even tell you what everyone else thinks it means, bah! PEACE!!! ;)
