My name is Brittany, and I am volunteering to take over themiddleearth for the lovely an_inside_job. Over the next week you will all see small slight changes made to the community. I will try to keep it as harmless as possible I swear! Your team communities/names will all stay the same, as well as the mods if they are still up for it

But yay for another round! I'm excited. I've been re-reading the series (on The Hobbit right now) and just trying to get my yearly springtime LotR fix so this is awesome!

BTW, tomorrow is Tolkien Reading Day!! (It's also the anniversary of the downfall of Sauron ;D)

Not ashamed to admit that I took off of work tomorrow so I can sit on my butt and read Tolkien all day.

My boss asked me why I wanted Friday instead of my normal Tuesday off and I was like "Cause I'm planning on reading 'Lord of the Rings'", and she just shook her head at me and sighed.

That's awesome actually. No shame in that at all. It's days like tomorrow that make me somewhat content wit the fact that I'm still a full time student since I'm unable to find a job anywhere...

I'm actually planning on going to community college this fall since starting next week Thursday I'll be out of a job, because I work at Borders bookstore and the store I work at was one of the 274 stores they decided to close. I've been looking for jobs, but yeah it's really hard to find any. I think I've applied to 30 places this past month and haven't gotten one call.

We can both mourn together while reading Tolkien.

Sorry to hear about your impending job loss :( Yeah, I already have an associates, but sort of feel like I'm forced to further my education because I can't risk not being able to pay back my loans if I don't have a job. And I know exactly what you mean. I've put in application after application and not a single call.

Sounds like a plan :)
