For those of us of a certain generation, everything we ever needed to know we learnt from the good Doctor.

... I suspect Middleman could well be (have been) one of those shows for kids today.

Indeed. Though my favorite bit of Whovian wisdom was stated by Tom Baker.

"What is the use in growing up if you can't act like a child once in a while."

I heard that when I was kid and it stuck with me since.
