Well, friends, family and fans, I am alive and well, but not so much well. I understand that I have not updated in quite a while. I was quite busy last week and the days that I wasnt busy the internet was down here on campus or a I had a test to study for. I have been working like crazy as well as hanging out with the band and my girlfriend. I really wanted to update in time for two weekends ago to be important and relavent because it was so amazing. Then last weekend came and it so happend to be pretty fun as well. Life was actually pretty sweet until yesterday.
Yesterday changed life as I knew it, for now.
It all started out as a simple morning, I woke up and left early because I had a couple of things that I wanted to get done before school. I had gas and mcgriddles on the mind. It wasnt too early but just early enought to stop at the gas station and mcdonalds befor having some extra time to look for a decent parking spot.
I called Jill befor I even left the house today, so I was just listening to music on my way down university. I was admiring the snow as it was falling and getting irritated at the abnormal slowness of trafic today. I was concidering taking forrest hill to sheridan and then getting on to War Memorial from there, but then I realized that I needed gas and I felt like supporting Road Ranger because they are so nice to me.
I pulled into the gas station and pulled up to one of the only open pumps and right as I did a giant U-Haul trucked pulled in. I made eye contact with the driver and I thought it would be a nice gesture for me to back up so that he would be able to pull up and get just a little closer to the pump befor backing up. He noded and as I got out of the car he shot me a "hey, thanks" I replied, "No problem" Unfortunatly I pulled up to a pay first pump without even knowing.
I walked in to Road ranger with my hand in my back pocket when i realized that I didnt have my wallet in there. I got frantic for 2 seconds before finding my wallet in my coat pocket remembering pulling it out of my work pants right befor I walked out of the door. I opened it at the register saying "20 on pump 11" but as the word "twenty" was leaving my wallet I realized that I only had 7 dollars in my wallet. With my mind still on McGriddles I changed my mind and appologized to the cashier as I handed her 3 dollars.
I hate leaving a Gas station with only 2 cm change on my gas, but atleast the annoying orange GET GAS light went off. The previously annoyingly slow trafic turned into annoyingly crowded trafic and I was not able to pull out of the road ranger before I gave up and turned right and decided to make a circle back to war memorial.
Driving was back to normal as I watched the falling snow again on war memorial. I was more than half way to school by now. I was just about to cross the bridge on war, but I was right behind a huge van going about 10 below the speed limit. Just as he was starting to reach speed again, I decided to switch lanes but I didnt see the truck in the other lane until he stomped on his breaks for some reason and I tried to swerve to not hit him. Thats when I lost control of the car.
I dont know if you have ever been in a wreck before, but when everything is happening so fast the only way you can recall the events are in still frames. I can still see my car right as it hit the right cement gaurd rail, my back tires were just a bit off the ground and my hood was in the process of crunching. The rest of the wreckage was like a dream, right after it happend I could remember what happend but as times goes on and even right now all I can remember was a few still frames of horror. I tried to explain it as much as I could right after it happend so that there was some account of what happend but I have ran over several senarios in my head and none of them quite match up with the couple of memories I had left.
Without much ado, everything came to a hault on the LEFT gaurd rail of the road and several feet away from where I first hit the RIGHT gaurd rail. I could of sworn I got hit by another person because I really dont know how I went from the memory of hitting the right gaurd rail, facing the oppisit direction, then finally people swerving to not hit me as I hurtled into the second gaurd rail facing the correct way again.
There was a warm liquidy sensation on my face and I thought for sure that when I looked in the mirror that it was going to look like a gory image from a horror story, but as my eyes focused on the mirror my face was coverd in nothing but snot. Surprizingly enought none of my windows shatterd and I was really in one peice as I looked down at the rest of my body.
I slightly remember stumbling out of my car trying to get a hold of my mom and there were 3 cars behind me and I thought to myself "great... I caused a 48 car pile up" but alas it was just 3 amazingly nice ICC students that saw the crash and called for help while finding me and asking me if I was alright, they hung out with me untill the cops came. Amazinly enought I didnt hit anyone and if anyone hit me they didnt stick around to tell the tale.
I want to find those kids around here and thank them so much for hanging around and caring.
The front end of my car was completely smashed to hell, my hood was scrunched to fit the remaining mass of the nose of my car. There was glass from all of my lights all over the ground along with my bumper. I really wish I had my digital camera but thanks to the development of technogy I had a camera in my phone so I have a couple pictures of my beloved car. Its best described as the engine of my car was sitting in the passenger seat with me.
I hate to say it but its a good thing I had my seat belt on because I probably would have been ejected over the gaurd rail and it would have ended up like a bad fatality from mortal combat on "the pit" level.
after all was said and done chris had come to pick me up but after they towed off my favorite car, my mom also came by to get me. We let chris go off to class even though he was already late and me and mom decided to go to the hospital for some xrays because my neck was killing me. Everything turned out fine and they perscribed me a bunch of medicine for pain and swelling but my neck still hurts like crazy.
So the moral of the story is that Im fine, my car is in some junk yard in shambles and I am back to the days of not having a car. which sucks. If you know of anyone who is selling a car for cheap get ahold of me or leave a comment on here.
