I am a sports otaku
There is an indoor soccer stadium about 10 minutes from my work that I have been playing at for years. They have a deal where from noon to 1:30 everyday you can pay 3 bucks and use the field for practice or whatever. So I go up there everyday and practice with a bunch of other guys.
Last Friday one of them asked if I would be their goalie for their semi professional team that plays on Monday nights. Its A divison and considered semi-professional. I said sure. I'll give it a shot.
Last night was my first game and it was really tough!!! I was able to help my team win but the score was 6-5. It went back and forth for a while. They seemed to like me enough to ask me back. Hopefully I can play better for them next week.
It should be a good learning experience for me.
