it might be a problem with LJ, I know I've had that problem with other communities in the past.

try clicking here:
http://www.livejournal.com/community/join.bml?comm=themesnomatter

and if it still doesn't work, I suggest you just keep clicking Join until it says you're a member.

okay. i clicked join. i joined, but i still can't read the friend's only posts.
i clicked the link that you posted. still doesn't work.

yeah, lj has been weird lately with communities.. it's happened to me a few times, if you try refreshing the community in a couple mins and it still doesn't work, let me know. :D
